Spring retreat 2020

During May 21th – 24th you can join us at the beautiful Gullnäsgården in the Bohusland archipelago, one mile southwest of Strömstad. Ajahn Kalyano will offer teachings on how to develop the 4 foundations of mindfulness (Satipaṭṭhāna) to a refined level.
Learning to live in the present is just the start of something that, if we choose to take it far enough, can completely transform our lives, taking us on the spiritual path to liberation. – Ajahn Kalyano

Registration and practical information

The retreat is led by our dear teacher Ajahn Kalyano, abbot at Skiptvet Buddhist Monastery, Lokuttara Vihara.
During the retreat, we consistently practice the eight training rules that the Buddha recommended to observe during intensive practice periods. (Please refer to this site for a description of the precepts: https://www.accesstoinsight.org/ptf/dhamma/sila/atthasila.html)
The retreat is kept in silence. The participants do not talk to each other during the main part of the stay. No special skills are required to participate, only openness to Buddhist teachings and an interest in mindfulness and meditation. Basic introduction to meditation techniques will be given at the beginning of the retreat, and the teaching is in English.
The tuition is provided free of charge and the event is held without commercial interest. Participants themselves cover expenses for boarding and lodging at Gullnäsgården. It includes three nights in single or shared rooms, breakfast and hot lunch (Friday – Sunday). For single rooms there is an additional charge of 100, – per day. Currently, the estimated price is around 2500, – per person. We hope to have it slightly reduced.
Arrival at Gullnäsgården will be from 17.00 on Thursday 21.5 and we will finish around 14.00 on Sunday 24.5.
More detailed information will be provided at registration and closer to the retreat start. Email registration:
